5 Gifts for the Writer in Your Life

November 22, 2019

I love Christmas, however, I don’t necessarily love shopping for Christmas.

Can you relate?

If you are anything like me, you want to buy something reasonably priced (but not cheap) that the recipient will love and use. Bonus points if the gift is thoughtful and exactly what they have been wanting!

In order to buy for everyone on the list (45 this year!) and not break the bank, it’s important to get a jump start on gifts. And while I don’t necessarily know what all of them want, I’m going to start with what I do know…what a WRITER wants:)

Here are 5 gift sets (with links) that are sure to please the writer in your life! Of course, if you have any ideas for teenage boys, or parents that have everything, help a girl out and comment below!

Books & Shirts about Books!!!

Writers love to read; it’s actually in the job description. Sure they have plenty of books on their shelf, but they always want more, trust me! Pay attention to the book they are currently reading and ask questions about it. Then find something similar. Check out some of my favorites, and don’t forget the book nerd t-shirt!

Paper & Ink!!!

Sure this gift is super practical, but that’s because it’s so needed. No one likes to buy this stuff and writers always run out at the most inopportune times. Help them stock up on the necessities by getting the good stuff. Want to impress them with your paper knowledge? Weight 28, baby. Weight 28

Candles & Quotes!!!

Inspiration doesn’t always come easy. Most writers have messy desks and a house full of chores. Their biggest challenge is sitting their booty in the chair and actually writing the words. It may sound simple, but we need good vibes in the form of candles and inspirational quotes. They help, I promise!

Tea & Coffee!!!

All writers have their favorites. Mine are iced unsweet tea (preferably from McDonald’s) and hot coffee (K-cups or any local coffee shop). Doesn’t matter if you drink it early morning, all through the day, or use it to stay up late at night—writers are on deadlines and deadlines need coffee! Maybe get a gift card to their favorite place, or an adorable mug to hold their drink.

Subscriptions & Sour Patch Kids!!!

Most writers get paid very little, which means they are probably on a tight budget. Want to give the gift that keeps on giving? Order them a subscription box of their favorite things. FabFitFun has full-size items that are delivered quarterly. I just recently signed up and I love it! There are literally boxes for everything! And the candy thing? Well, that just makes sense.

Questions? Just ask. Happy Shopping!
